Hi,
Well, Mark left yesterday morning for Brussels and in that time I have managed to break my lap top and our dvd player! LOL
My lap top is being so naughty and Mark has told me he may have to re-boot the whole system when he gets home! (that's if I have remembered to save it all as I didn't last time!). Oh my goodness, if this happens, I will have lost ALL the children's lessons I write myself, thousands of materials and documents, it doesn't bear thinking about.....
I am so lonely too...mind you I persuaded my three eldest to watch 'Mansfield Park' with me tonight, LOL. It is not a very good production and the boys wren't too impressed! ha
In the next five days I am aiming to make about 200 chocolates for Christmas pressies and actually finish colouring and write all the cards...not to mention checking pressies and baking..I do have time set aside for my dance routine and prep for the Big Night Out......

I realy feel for you hon. As for the lessons - silly question, but don't you back them up onto cd's? It would save stuff getting lost.

Aww know how you feel Amanda. Phil goes away with work and I always end up breaking something... One time it was the toilet. Thought I'd pop one of those blue things in the cistern. Went to lift the cistern and it was a bit tough so I gave it an extra tug. It came off but had also pulled something off with it and the cistern wouldn't stop filling  Luckily it wasn't too late at night and my father in law came out and turned the water off to the loo. Last time the swing seat at the bottom of the garden blew over and landed in the pond and this time my laptop started playing up and wouldn't connect to the wireless router..... ah well hopefully only 3 nights to go here With your lessons, you could also back up on a memory stick or invest in a media hub that you can back stuff onto. You can also get ones that you can access even when you're not at home. Making chocolates sounds like my kinda thing (although I'm not sure how many would end up being presents)  Are they easy to make? Dear Jean and Helly,
There is an option to save documents etc which I am supposed to press yes to each time it appears, it happens so often that I am pretty sure I have done this..but one never knows.
Mark didn't sound too ruffled when I exclaimed I had broken the entire computer, I think he said most of the work will be saved but obviously he is unable to do anything from there..
It's ironic you mentioned the toilet as this is a fear I have each time M is away! That a child will block up the toilet or something equally horrendous! We do have that liquid you pour down for emergencies! LOL
Yes making chocs is quiteeasy although it depends on which ones I make. Usually I opt for the simplest and least time consuming although I rather like the tricky sort sometimes. For this year I'm making; brandy truffles, florentines, cherry fudge and pastachio choc fudge......I found some boxes from a card shop which seem okay, they'll fit in around 10 chocs each..

Hi Amanda,
Gosh.... I'd forgot that Mark is away. Don't worry by the sounds of things you'll be kept so busy that before you know it Mark will be walking through the front door with a big smile on his face clutching Belgium chocolates and wine....
Not sure if your laptop is set up for this, but mine automatically saves every couple of minutes and has a back-up programme.
Wish I lived nearer to you so that I could keep you company in the evenings, still we can always chat?

Thanks Barbara, yes I am hoping and praying all the documents have saved!
We're going to my parent's fot the night tomorrow, they're taking us all to see the 'Lion King' in London!
Hope everything behaves! I'll e/mail you tonight....everything is so much slower on this computer as I am not used to it

Enjoy the Lion King Amanda. Would welcome feed back. Did think about taking two of my grand-daughters to see The Snowman as we all love the ballet, I wonder if anyone has been?

We've seen this and it is wonderful Eleanor! They also have the dvd of the Snowman and watch it every Christmas.
I will tell you if it is suitable for littles, I am slightly concerned about Patrick although he is probably the toughest out of all of them! LOL

I may get tickets for early in the New Year to see the Snowman. The little girls will love it I know. Await with interest how the Lion King is recieved by your youngsters.

Just reminded me Amanda- I'd better get fudge making for my workmates.
i've also got a wonderful recipe for German star biscuits- well they're a sort of nougaty meringue concoction made of ground nuts, honey, icing sugar.... and very addictive.

Hello Amanda coeee we home you know any how cause we texted glad show was fab how un canny u know if we had still been delayed and you hadnt got stuck in traffic we could have met up for 5mins. how nice and special that would been ahh well another time. sure u having nice time staying at yuor parents house tonight,safe journey home tomorrow. home made choccies oh Amanda your our resident cook. so yuo managed break laptop and what else dvd machine oh lol! whys it always happen when our loved ones way! not long now 2 bit more sleeps and he shall return and u shall go to the ball! ahh not easy though especially with 5 little uns. yes always save on to cd and check cd to make sure its saved. ps i dint know u had laptop how handy,Im imagining u leanring rope of pc now. If anything like me-rope ben into helping you. take care hugs melly cuddly cats make my world seem so much more fun

Hi Amanda - was also wondering how you were getting on - hope your little angels are behaving like angels for you. Jimmy has been like a whirling dervish he's so excited about school holidays and christmas. We both will be tomorrow as I work term time and will be finishing work until 4 Jan as well - bliss. AH thank you so much for asking after me.
The 'Lion King' was truly spectacular, what a treat! It was so beautifully done, so colourful and enchanting.
Eleanor, it is very suitable for children over 5years I would say. Patrick (5) was fine although he did ask if he could go home as some of the songs were long, in fact it was probably too long for him although it was packed with little children! It was definitely perfect for all ages though and my other children loved it.
My right knee (the newly aspirated and injected one) for some reason is hurting and already swollen again. It is is so tender that the right side of it is literally making me yelp even if I brush lightly against it!
I also have bright red knuckles on one hand? Is this odd?!
The children have been angelic...and excited about Christmas...They have been colouring our cards we make and making paper chains with little prayers/wishes inside..
